“Aloha!
I am Cynthia Buckles.
I gained my passion for photography in Alaska, when my dad first put a camera in my hands. He quickly lost interest in developing all my rolls of film and got me a Polaroid camera for my 5th birthday. From that point photography was magic! I have had the passion for it ever sense, and I hope to share that passion with you.
As an artist, my creativity goes beyond the digital camera. I love creative and impossible digital edits and painting oil and watercolor portraits, landscapes, acrylic murals, and to entertain children with face painting. I love celebrating special occasions in life with the meditative and loving tradition of Henna. I love the special time that is created between women as the henna is applied, decorating their bodies, like frosting on a birthday cake.
I have been on the Big Island of Hawaii for 11 years, exploring the island and immersing myself in art and photography.
I love to create and thing when striving for perfection in any area of our lives- that can be a work of art. I strive to live my life that way, in every aspect. I believe everyone has a young artist inside of them and can enjoy the process of creation, and improve with practice over time. Art is for everyone.
